In a recent IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Virat Kohli showcased a remarkable performance, scoring a magnificent century off just 63 balls. As fans celebrated Kohli’s extraordinary innings on social media, renowned TV news presenter Rajat Sharma took the opportunity to congratulate him while indirectly taking a jibe at former cricketer Gautam Gambhir.

Rajat Sharma expressed his admiration for Kohli’s innings, describing it as a delight to watch. However, he added, “Of course, somebody somewhere may not be happy,” implying that he was referring to Gambhir. This subtle dig by Sharma comes in the wake of Gambhir’s recent attack on him. Although Gambhir did not mention Sharma by name, he left enough hints in his tweet for everyone to discern the target of his criticism.

Here’s Rajat Sharma’s dig:

Gambhir’s tweet was a response to Rajat Sharma’s show on India TV, where the presenter criticized Gambhir for his on-field altercation with Kohli during a match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and RCB. Sharma accused Gambhir of not displaying appropriate behavior during the incident, prompting Gambhir’s scathing response.

Returning to the match itself, Kohli’s century played a pivotal role in RCB’s successful chase of SRH’s target of 187 runs. Alongside captain Faf du Plessis, Kohli contributed to a partnership of 172 runs, leading RCB to an emphatic eight-wicket victory with four balls to spare.

When questioned about his previous record against SRH, Kohli shrugged off any concerns, stating that he does not dwell on past numbers and focuses on putting himself under enough pressure already. He expressed indifference to outside opinions, emphasizing that everyone is entitled to their own viewpoint.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to Rajat Sharma’s dig:
