Star India pacer Jasprit Bumrah who is currently out of cricketing action due to a back injury attended the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on Tuesday. In the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Hardik Pandya’s GT hosted Rohit Sharma’s MI in the 35th match of the ongoing tournament.
Ahead of the game, MI pacer Bumrah who is out of ongoing IPL due to injury, was spotted at the ground. MI shared his image on the Twitter handle with the caption “Boom boom is here”. Notably, Bumrah has started his rehab at the National Cricket Academy after successful back surgery.
Bumrah is set to miss the World Test Championship finals as he will take around three to four months to get back on the field. His inclusion will be important for the Indian team for the upcoming World Cup. India will expect him to get fully recovered as soon as possible so that he can participate in the prestigious tournament.

Meanwhile, amid the ongoing Indian Premier League, Indian team management announced their 15-member squad for the World Test Championship finals. India recalled veteran batter Ajinkya Rahane and retained KL Rahul amid his poor performance in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Star batters Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Sarfraz Ahmed missed out on the squad.
India will be looking to win their first multinational tournament after a decade. Rohit Sharma and company will play the WTC final just a week after IPL 2023 finals and it will be difficult for the team to switch between the formats.
