The second day of the final Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy was quite dull as there was nothing on offer for the bowlers. In their first innings, Australia managed to score 480 runs and batted for almost two days. While the spectators had not much to cheer the entire day, they did have a fun moment at the back end of the day.

Indian opener Shubman Gill hit a six in the last over of the day’s play. As it turns out, the ball landed and seeped inside the covers of the sight screen. A spectator in the nearby stands charged forward to retrieve the ball. He crawled under the covers looking for it.

The crowd, meanwhile, was all charged up and started rooting for him. Even the commentator Ravi Shastri made it an experience for the audience at home with his unique commentary. The boy finally got hold of the ball and the crowd burst into a loud cheer for him. He finally threw the ball back on the field and the game resumed.

He has been hailed on Twitter and the fans have called him the saviour of the day. “GOAT explorer,” a user called him.

IND vs AUS 4th Test match

As for the game, Australia completely dominated the proceedings on Day 2, Usman Khawaja, the overnight centurion, and Cameron Green, who also completed his maiden century, put on a 208-run partnership to put India in a commanding position. Khawaja scored 180 runs in the match, while green scored 114 runs. In the end, a small cameo from Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy propelled Australia to a score of 480 runs.

With 10 overs left in the day, India was finally given the opportunity to bat in the match. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill came out determined to score runs and were successful. They remained unbeaten and scored 36 runs in 10 overs.

The home team now trails by 444 runs and will look to improve on Day 3. When looking at the wicket, it appears to be a batter’s paradise. They’ll look to build on their strong start by scoring some runs.
