In the 63rd match of the Indian Premier League 2023, Lucknow Super Giants hosted Mumbai Indians at the iconic Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. While batting first, LSG posted a huge total of 177/3 in 20 overs. Allrounder Marcus Stoinis smashed an amazing half-century after LSG crumbled with early wickets. Stoinis scored unbeaten 89 runs off just 47 balls with the help of four boundaries and eight maximums.
Though, Stoinis charged all MI bowlers but had some special arrangements for Chris Jordan. Stoinis smacked 24 runs off Jordan in the 18th over of the game to change the momentum in favour of the hosts. Overall, Stoinis played seven deliveries off Jordan and hammered 27 runs from it. He has a love affair with him and loves to hit him in the game. Earlier, he had scored 125 runs off him at a strike rate of 240 in his career.
Notably, Jordan had an off day with the ball as he leaked 50 runs in his four-over quota and went wicketless. His bowling can trouble MI as chasing 178 would not be easy on a slowish track in Lucknow where the highest score chased is 160. Meanwhile, apart from Stoinis, LSG skipper Krunal Pandya also played a crucial knock as he scored 49 runs off 42 balls with the help of a boundary and a six. He got retired hurt after getting injured during the game.

Chasing has been the biggest strength of Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League. After winning the toss, skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bowl first stating that they would like to do what they do better. So, it will be interesting to watch how things turn around. MI skipper, Rohit Sharma has a great record on the ground and would like to continue his dominance.
On the other hand, MI batter Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan are in great touch and the team would rely on them for the victory. Meanwhile, if Mumbai win this game, they will be sailed to the second position in the points table and can be seen fighting against Gujarat Titans in the qualifier 1.
