India thrashed England in the first ODI in London on Tuesday. The win came on the back of  Jasprit Bumrah’s career-best bowling performance of 6/19. On a pitch that offered swing and bounce, the Indian bowling lineup, led by Bumrah seemed unplayable to the England batters.

Supported by Mohammad Shami at the other end, India bundled out England to a paltry score of just 110 in 25.2. Naturally, Bumrah received massive praise for his career-best performance from all around the globe.

Sachin Tendulkar, one of the greatest cricketers to have played the game, took to Twitter to hail the Indian pacer. Sharing an image of Jasprit Bumrah, the ex- India batter wrote, “The Oval pitch has great bounce but Indian bowlers bowled the right lengths & that made all the difference. A great bowling performance by India’s pace attack especially Bumrah who was just phenomenal.”

“I’ve been of the opinion for a while now that Bumrah is the best bowler across formats. It was good to hear @nassercricket agree with me on-air,” Tendulkar added.

Tendulkar mentioned Nasser Hussain, who was massively impressed by Bumrah’s bowling in the first ODI. He hailed the Indian bowler as the best in the world in his column for Sky Sports.

“Bumrah would have to be the best all-format bowler in world cricket. Who would be the challengers? Maybe Trent Boult, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Jofra Archer when fit. But right now, he is the best there is,” Hussain wrote in a piece on Sky Sports column.

Talking of the game, India outclassed England in all departments at the Kennington Oval. Bowling them out at 110 and then chasing the target in just 18.4 overs without losing a single wicket showcased the gulf in quality between these two teams. Rohit Sharma (76*) and Shikhar Dhawan (31*) were able to play comfortably on a pitch that troubled the England batters. India and England will clash in the second ODI on 14th July at Lords.
