Led by Ravichandran Ashwin’s exceptional performance, India secured a commanding victory against the West Indies in the first Test at Windsor Park. After debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal’s impressive knock of 171, India declared a substantial lead of 271 runs. It was then Ashwin’s turn to shine, as he claimed an outstanding 7-wicket haul, conceding only 71 runs.

The West Indies, facing a challenging target, succumbed to the pressure and were dismissed for a mere 130 runs on the third evening. Taking full advantage of the pitch’s turn and bounce, Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja formed a formidable duo, wreaking havoc on the West Indies top order.
