However, on the other hand, there have some team and individual performances that the players would like to forget. Not just them, the fans might have forgotten these performances. In the last 15 years, there have been some highest team and individual totals, and there have been some lowest team and individual totals.
Meanwhile, we will discuss the lowest team totals and there are plenty of them. However, we will discuss the top five lowest totals. These will only include those totals in which the batting side got all-out or ended the innings without getting much. 1 Royal Challengers Bangalore
In the 27th game of the 2017 season between Kolkata Knight Riders and RCB, the home team, KKR was asked to bat first after losing the toss. The former champions struggled with the bat with Sunil Narine (34) being their highest scorer. They amassed 131 all-out.
RCB was expected to win this game by a big margin. However, as it turned out, the then-Virat Kohli-led side lost the game by 82 runs. They were bowled out for 49 runs, registering the lowest team total.
2. Rajasthan Royals
In the second season of the tournament, the Royals were defending their title. In their first game of the tournament against RCB, RR was chasing 134 runs. Batting first, the then-Anil Kumble-led side could only manage 133/8 with their former skipper Rahul Dravid scoring a fifty.
In reply, the Blue Brigade, RR were blown away by Kumble’s five-wicket haul for as many runs in 3.1 overs. Thanks to him, the then-Shane Warne-led side was bowled out for 58, losing the game by 75 runs.
3. Rajasthan Royals
In the ongoing 2023 season, both, RR and RCB played a reverse fixture against each other on May 14 in Jaipur. Both teams needed to win to remain alive and come close to a playoff spot. The three-time finalists won the toss and elected to bat first.
They amassed 171/5, thanks to fifties from skipper Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell. In reply, the 2008 winners had no answer to a good bowling from RCB and were bowled out for 59 runs, losing the game by 112 runs.
4. Delhi Daredevils
In the 45th game of the 2017 season against Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) had no answer to MI’s might. Batting first, the eventual winners of that season amassed 212/3, thanks to fifties from Lendl Simmons and Kieron Pollard and a cameo from Hardik Pandya.
In reply, the home team, DD was bowled out for 66 runs, with Harbhajan Singh and Karn Sharma taking three wickets each. Only three DD batters could cross the double-digit mark.
5. Kolkata Knight Riders
In the 38th game of the inaugural season, KKR played against the team that has turned out to be their nemesis, that is i.e Mumbai Indians. Batting first, the Men In Black were bowled out for 67 runs. Shaun Pollock took three wickets while Dwayne Bravo, Rohan Raje, and Dominic Thornely took two each. In reply, the team, MI chased down the target in just 5.3 overs after losing two wickets.
