Amit Mishra has been a common name in the Indian T20 League, with his extraordinary bowling exploits. Notably, he is the third-highest wicket-taker in the history of the tournament after Dwayne Bravo and Lasith Malinga. The leg-spinner went unsold in the mega auction ahead of the Indian T20 League 2022. But this has not hampered the cricketer’s interest in the cash-rich league. He has been active on social media since the beginning of the tournament, commenting on the on-field ongoings.
He has grabbed attention mainly for his witty comments. On the 8th of April, he made a humorous comment on Chennai’s strategy to go for players on the ‘wrong side of 30’ rather than younger players.
Chennai is often termed the ‘Dad’s Army’, and this year also the average age of the squad is over 30 justifying the name. Amit Mishra highlighted this fact when the fans requested him to join the Chennai team. His reply left the netizens in splits and fans appreciated the leg spinner’s sense of humor. A fan tagged Amit Mishra and wrote on Twitter – “Sir, pls come to Chennai.†To this Mishra hilariously replied – “Sorry mate, Still two years younger for it.â€

Speaking of Chennai, they are having a torrid time in the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League 2022. They have lost all three of their matches till now in the tournament. Chennai is currently ranked 8th in the points table with 0 points and a Net Run Rate of -1.251. They will be playing their next match against Hyderabad at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on the 9th of April. They will look to address their issues and register their first points of the tournament.
