The high-profile match involving India and Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup is all set to take place in New York City. A new stadium will be built in Eisenhower Park, 30 miles east of New York, according to Cricbuzz. In East Meadow the stadium will be located, it will cover approximately 930 acres. A comparable facility was reportedly desired by the apex cricket council for Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
Locals living close to the park as well as a neighbourhood cricket league operating out of the park, however, objected, and the apex cricket council abandoned the proposal. The Eisenhower Park’s administration, Nassau County, and the apex cricket body, moved swiftly to negotiate a deal. Now there will be three facilities within the USA that are available and are of an international grade. The Central Broward Park in Miami and a 15k-seater stadium in Dallas were both used during Major League Cricket’s initial season.

The apex cricket body places a high importance on having a successful tournament of the 20 matches. The USA has been handed out the responsibility for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Los Angeles will once again host the Olympics in 2028, and this occasion will inspire the International Olympic Committee to add cricket as one of the sports for the huge event.
Jenifer Rajkumar, the very first Indian-American woman elected to the state Assembly, asked apex cricket body chairman Greg Barclay to assign part of the 2024 T20 World Cup matches to her state last month. Jenifer Rajkumar said, “On behalf of tens of thousands of New York cricket fans, I write to implore you (Barclay) to select New York City as the host for the World Cup. I am a proud supporter of cricket, having played the sport as a child with my cousins in India. Our love of cricket is due in no small part to New York City being the cross-section of the world. We have welcomed people from all nations where cricket is a national pastime.”
