Virat Kohli, the former captain of India, has refuted rumours that he receives $11.5 million for each sponsored Instagram post. On Wednesday, the post-scheduling website Hopper HQ published an “Instagram Rich List.” Top celebrities’ niches, locations, followers, and ‘cost per post’ were listed. The report made no reference to any measurements or formulas for figuring out the “cost per post.”

Following Lionel Messi (21.5 crore) and Cristiano Ronaldo (26.7 crore), Kohli was the third athlete on the list. Social media users shared the article widely. Kohli clarified the fake news on Twitter by saying, “While I am grateful and indebted to all that I’ve received in life, the news that has been making rounds about my social media earnings is not true.”

Every setback becomes an opportunity for me to come back stronger: Virat Kohli

Kohli spoke to Indian Express a few days back and discussed the kind of setback he faced and his mentality now and during that torrid time. He said, “I draw inspiration from my past successes and learnings. Reflecting on the moments when I performed at my best and analyzing the areas where I can improve from losses helps me grow as a player. Every setback becomes an opportunity for me to come back stronger.”

The former Indian team skipper spoke about the opinions of other people and his ability on the cricket field. He added,  “What has truly defined me as a person is my ability to stay resilient and keep pushing forward, no matter how difficult the circumstances. People will always have opinions and judgments, but I have learned to trust my instincts and have confidence in my abilities. This self-belief has been the driving force behind all my achievements on the cricket field.”

After playing in the IPL, the World Test Championship final, as well as the first two legs of the West Indies trip, Kohli is taking a rest for a couple of weeks. The Asia Cup, which starts on August 30, is when the Delhi batter is anticipated to return to action.
