Mumbai Indians’ speedster Jofra Archer did not have the best debut for the most successful team as he was taken for runs by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. To add to his misery, he sustained an injury in the match and has been out of action ever since.

MI has also had a difficult time in the Indian Premier League 2023. They have only won one of their three games so far. They are currently playing against the Kolkata Knight Riders at their home ground, the iconic Wankhede Stadium.

Tim David discussed Jofra Archer’s injury and hinted at a longer delay for his return ahead of their fourth game. Archer was still under medical supervision, according to David, and he couldn’t confirm or reject his availability.

“At the moment Jof is being managed by the medical team and I am not a part of those conversations. Whenever they have him ready to play he will be ready to go,” David was quoted as saying by India Today. According to reports, Archer had a light bowling session away from the training nets on Saturday, April 15. He later was seen with a bat and looked at ease hitting some huge shots.

They have got some dangerous batsmen: Tim David

Meanwhile, Mumbai will face a significant struggle in keeping KKR’s batters quiet, as they have amassed 200-plus totals in their last three matches. Nitish Rana, Venkatesh Iyer, and Rinku Singh have been in superb form and will make the most of the fine batting conditions at Wankhede.

Speaking of KKR’s fearsome batting lineup, David added that it will be difficult to plan for them and that MI are more focused on playing good cricket. “They (KKR) have got some dangerous batsmen and (if) our bowlers get them out (early) that will be a perfect start for us. But no, it is tough to plan, I think. We are more focused on ourselves and we want to play a good game and we know when we play our best cricket we are going to top,” David added.
