Cricket is a non-stop sport and almost every year we see one major world tournament or the other. Teams and players have less time to prepare these days and have to be ready for any challenge almost instantly. Just like that, there are leaked reports of dates for the T20 World Cup 2024 in the United States of America and West Indies.
The upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup is set to be one of the biggest world tournaments in the history of the sport. As many as 20 teams are set to be a part of the upcoming T20 World Cup. Similar to the 2021 T20 World Cup, teams like Namibia, Scotland, Ireland will be able to get more experience against top international teams.
This will be the first major cricket competition held in the United States of America. The USA locations for the games have been determined by the Apex Cricket Council. Baseball, a bat-and-ball game unique to the US, is one of the most well-liked and widely-watched sports worldwide. In addition, the United States boasts a respectable cricket squad that is ranked in the top 20 worldwide.
Each of the 20 teams will be split into four separate groups of five and play in a single round-robin style. The dates of the competition are June 4, 2024, through till June 30, 2024. England, who took home the T20 World Cup 2022 would be hoping to defend their title.
Namibia qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024
The apex cricket council confirmed on Tuesday that Namibia has qualified for the men’s T20 World Cup 2024. All thanks to a net run rate of +2.643 and 10 points, which guaranteed them a place in the top two on the Africa region qualifying points table.
From June 4–30 of the following year, the West Indies and the USA will host the T20 World Cup. Namibia has qualified for their third consecutive tournament appearance, thanks to five victories in a row. Namibia also sits atop the points standings and are likely to finish on top.
