Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma has been struggling to find his form in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 36-year-old has been able to score only 184 runs in 10 matches played in IPL 2023 so far at a poor average of 18.40 including one half-century.
In MI’s previous game against Chennai Super Kings at M.A Chidambaram Stadium, Rohit got out for a duck of three balls and made an unwanted record in front of his name. Rohit has now the most ducks in the history of IPL, with 16 to his name. Former Indian cricketer K Srikkanth slammed Rohit for his poor run in IPL 2023 and made a controversial statement about him during his commentary stint for Star Sports during CSK vs MI clash.
“Not Hit Sharma”. Rohit Sharma should change his name to ‘NO HIT SHARMA’, I will not even play him in XI if I was Captain of MI,” said Srikkanth as quoted by News 18. However, his statement didn’t go well with so many fans as well as the former cricketer Aakash Chopra who took his Twitter to take an indirect dig at Srikkanth for his statement. “When former cricketers assume the role of ‘trollers’, you know that it’s hit the lowest ebb. Nadir,” Chopra wrote on his Twitter.
