Due to a family issue, R Ashwin withdrew from the Indian Test team. However, Kuldeep Yadav has suggested that Ashwin could be able to make a comeback in the current Rajkot Test. Kuldeep Yadav spoke alongside Dinesh Karthik on Jio Cinema. He said, “I am not sure but I think Ash bhai is someone who is coming back I guess.”

Following the conclusion of Day 2 in Rajkot, Ashwin—who became only the second Indian following the illustrious Anil Kumble to reach 500 Test wickets—had to pull out from the third Test of India’s five-match series versus India due to personal issues. Later on, it came to light that Ashwin had to leave for Chennai immediately to be with his sick mother.

The Indian Cricket Board mentioned Ashwin’s withdrawal from the third Test match. They said in a statement that, “Ravichandran Ashwin has withdrawn from the Test squad, effective immediately due to a family medical emergency. In these challenging times, the Indian Cricket Team and the team fully supports Ashwin.”

The statement added, “The Indian Cricket Board extends its heartfelt support to the champion cricketer and his family. The health and well-being of the players and their loved ones are of utmost importance. The Board requests respect for the privacy of Ashwin and his family as they navigate through this challenging time.”

Will Ravichandran Ashwin have to wait to bowl during the 3rd Test?

According to Dinesh Karthik, there would not be a waiting period in Rajkot for Ravichandran Ashwin to return and bowl. Ashwin pulled out of the third Test involving India and England, which was taking place at Rajkot’s Niranjan Shah Stadium.

On Day 3 commentator Dinesh Karthik said live on television that Ashwin will be permitted to return and bowl in Rajkot. In order to take care of his family in Chennai, Ashwin chose to leave the Test match despite bowling on Day 2. He said on Jio Cinema’s post-match show, “Ravi Ashwin can come anytime during this Test Match and bowl straightaway. The umpires have given Ashwin that favor.”
