The India team for the final three Test matches against England will be revealed by the Indian Cricket Board senior men’s selection committee, which is chaired by former pacer Ajit Agarkar. The group will meet in the coming days. Rahul Dravid and Captain Rohit Sharma are probably going to take part in the selection discussion as well.
Notably, Rohit and Agarkar had a long conversation practically immediately following India’s victory over England during the second Test at Visakhapatnam. The meeting for selection will not be simple by any means. While there are many unanswered issues, none is more important than Virat Kohli’s availability.
It is probable that the team for the upcoming two Tests would include KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, who were sidelined by injury during the second Test. In the first game of the series, Jadeja injured his hamstring trying to score runs. Meanwhile, KL Rahul was sidelined due to a quadriceps injury. They are both presently enrolled at Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Both of the NCA physicians are apparently healing well, even if they haven’t yet turned in their final reports to the Indian Cricket Board. The selectors are confident about their comeback, even if the next test in Rajkot persists to be one week away.
Will Jasprit Bumrah be rested for the third Test?
It will also shortly announced that speedster Mohammed Siraj would rejoin the team to split the workload alongside Jasprit Bumrah. Since the Indian team management appears hesitant to use four spinners, Siraj will almost certainly start.
There have been a few media sources speculating that Jasprit Bumrah would be rested before the third Test. The management of the Indian bowling attack, led by Bumrah, does not desire to rest him at the moment. It is thought that Bumrah’s workload can be managed with the break between both the second and third Tests.
