Dota 2 esports scene is thriving as always. This year is no exception for the game, as another high-stakes Dota 2 esports tournament has just been announced.
Games of the Future, a LAN tournament for Dota 2 featuring a massive prize pool of $1 million, will start next month. The tournament will feature 16 Dota 2 teams that include 14 invited and two qualifying teams from Phygital Games 1 and 2.
The event will take place at the Kazan Expo, Russia from February 23 – Match 3. It is a successor to the Phygital Games Season 2. The winner will take home $350,000. Second place will take $160,000 and third place with $120,000.

Apart from these eight, six more teams who are invited to the tournament are yet to be announced.
Qualifying teams –
Games of the Future only features two spots for qualifying teams. These are secured by One Move and HYDRA. ‘One Move’ made its way through Phygital Games 1, while HYDRA qualified through Phygital Games 2.
Match Format –
Matches will be played in the Group Stage. From there, twelve teams will be moving forward to the Playoffs leading to the grand finals.
Groups Stage will feature four groups of four teams in a modified GSL format. All matches will be played in Best-of-Three (Bo3). The top four teams in the Groups Stage will move to the Quarter-finals of playoffs.
Playoffs will feature a Single-elimination bracket that will also be played in Bo3 format. The bottom two teams from the group stages will battle each other in the first round of Playoffs. The winner will secure a spot in the semi-finals.
