Team India won the toss and chose to field first against their neighbours Pakistan at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. The Pakistan openers raced off to a quick start, but India’s bowlers battled to maintain discipline and weren’t exactly on the boil right away. Pakistan was looking excellent, and Mohammed Siraj particularly was being smashed about for a few boundaries.
Siraj, though, was the one who gave India their first success when Rohit bluffed and hinted at a short ball before sliding in a cross-seamer to hold low and bowl Abdullah Shafique up front. Imam-ul-Haq quickly fell victim to the trap as they drove a deep point squarer into him.
After then, Mohammed Rizwan as well as Babar Azam started to work and started to accumulate. They got a slow but steady partnership going as the duo added 83 runs over the third wicket. With a dream of a delivery, Siraj sent back the opposition skipper and from them the Pakistan downfall started.
In the same over, Kuldeep removed both Saud Shakeel as well as Ifthikhar Ahmed. Jasprit Bumrah kept the pressure up as he sent back the set batter Rizwan along with all-rounder Shadab Khan with spectacular deliveries. Pakistan collapsed from a position of 155 for 2 to 191 all-out within the span of 13 overs.
Rohit Sharma stars once again as India makes it 8-0 against Pakistan in ODI World Cups
This strong Indian batting lineup was never going to be shaken by the 192 run target. Team India captain Rohit Sharma made the task even simpler with an outstanding effort. With his strokeplay, he battled the Pakistani pacers because of his impeccable timing. The highlight was a pull by Haris Rauf that flew over a deep backward square leg.
Unfortunately, he could not manage another hundred in the ODI World Cup. He got out to a brilliant delivery from Shaheen Shah Afridi. Shreyas Iyer took time to observe the pitch and looked around. The Indian team No. 4 propelled himself to a spirit-boosting unbeaten 53 thanks to his innings. India comfortably won the game by 7 wickets and went to the top of the ODI World Cup 2023.

8-0! And this 8th win in a row has to be inarguably the easiest. India with a belting of Pakistan and that envious World Cup record in ODIs continues. The chase of 192 was never going to unsettle this powerful Indian batting lineup and skipper Rohit Sharma made it even more…
