Bangladesh won the toss and chose to field first in Dharamsala for their morning game against England. Jonny Bairstow as well as Dawid Malan assessed the pitch by getting off to a cautious start. Litton Das persevered, and there was briefly some unrealistic optimism that he may make it, but a Chris Woakes outswinger ended his fight. Although Keeper Mushfiqur as well as Towhid Hridoy scored a few runs, their only contribution was to drag out the game’s conclusion.
