Earlier, during an interview, the Mission Raniganj actor Akshay Kumar spoke about how the board considers the film for Adults only and has made 27 cuts before its OTT release. He spoke candidly to a leading media portal about the revisions made by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The actor disclosed saying, “I want to avoid conflict. I’m not familiar with the rules. I refrained from reading the rulebook. Did you all agree that it was an adult movie if they felt it was one? Everyone we showed the movie to thought it was fantastic. I created it for children, and I’m pleased that it will air on OTT. I’m done now. The fact that people should be aware of it is crucial.”
The board went through weeks of speculation on whether to give the film a ‘U/A’ or an ‘A’ certificate the board gave the movie OMG 2 ‘A’ rating only after 27 cuts. Akshay provided an illustration of the necessity for a shift in society’s mentality. He talked about his experience while promoting his 2018 film, Padman. During a time when people were uncomfortable holding or touching sanitary pads, Akshay mentioned that he made a movie about them. Someone whispered to him during an occasion when he was the principal guest not to provide them with a pad since it didn’t look nice. There is a need to alter this way of thinking.
