Arch-rivals Pakistan and India started their clash against one another for their second meeting during the Asia Cup 2023 on Sunday after the group round saw a washout. The legendary R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka, is playing home to the exciting Super 4 match.
Pakistan, which now holds the top slot within the Super 4 points standings, has displayed dazzling form throughout the competition. They thrashed Nepal in the opening round of the competition before dominating India in Pallekele with their bowling. Following the washed out game, the Men in Green utterly destroyed Bangladesh in the opening Super 4 match in Lahore, crushing them by seven wickets.
The enthusiastic Nepal side was defeated by India by 10 wickets during their final group-stage match, giving them a boost of confidence. We thus anticipate another exciting match to bless the Asia Cup on Super Sunday based on the recent form of both sides.
Although their Group-stage matchup in Kandy had ended in a draw, there was actually no reserve day in that instance. This time, a reserve day has been established, therefore even though just 24.1 overs were bowled on Sunday in Colombo, with India on 147/2, the match is going to be decided on Monday which also happens to be the reserve day.
Unfortunately, Colombo’s weather might jeopardise the game once again since rain clouds are threatening to obscure the much awaited match. Let’s check the weather prediction on the reserve day at the stadium as both sides look set to continue their enthralling clash.
Weather report for India vs Pakistan reserve clash
On Monday, the city is expected to see thunderstorms, with a probability of heavy rains as high as 93%. There is hence an extremely slim chance that spectators will see a complete 50-over per side contest.
The rain has currently stopped and the sun is shining bright over the Colombo skies. But the unpredictable weather can ruin the game for everyone. If the game is abandoned once again, both sides will receive one point, and Pakistan will continue to lead the Super 4 standings.
