‘Toh discipline follow karna thoda’ – Fans react to Riyan Parag’s bold statement on his trolling on social media

Riyan Parag opened up fully about his trolls, his life, advice given to him by Virat Kohli among other stuff.

Riyan Parag

The youthful all-rounder for Rajasthan Royals, Riyan Parag, has been a topic of debate ever since he made his debut in the IPL. Even though he has not played for his country and has not even been considered for national selection, he is one of the most trolling players in the nation, particularly throughout the IPL as his social media platform stocks soar.

Some of his critics from the underwhelming IPL 2023 (78 runs in 7 games) have turned into fans during his Deodhar Trophy comeback, where he was the highest run-getter with 354 runs across five games, including two centuries and a heroic 95 in the final against South Zone, in addition to 11 wickets, which were sufficient numbers to be named the Player of the Tournament.

They have a problem with my gaming and playing golf: Riyan Parag

The all-rounder talks about why people hate him and troll him on social media. He said, “People have a problem with me chewing gum. If my collar is up that’s a problem. I celebrate after taking a catch that’s a problem. They have a problem with my gaming and playing golf in my off time. I have an idea why people hate me. There is a rulebook about how you should play cricket. The T-shirt should be tucked in, the collar should be down, give respect to everyone, don’t sledge anyone, and I am completely the opposite.”

The Rajasthan Royals middle order batter spoke about how he is enjoying life and how he had to give advice to his mother regarding his trolls. He said, “I started playing cricket because it is fun and I am still playing cricket for the fun part. People can’t digest that I am playing on such a big level, and I am enjoying it. People think I am not grateful. My only advice to her is this is going to happen regardless of whether I do well or bad. I have told her to stay off Instagram and Facebook. They do go through trauma but I don’t think anyone cares about it,” he says. His father, though, understands him.
