As the Indian Premier League 2023 season is closing towards its business end, teams have started preparing well for their final encounters. These two months of cricket kept fans entertained and engaged with their favourite cricketers. Meanwhile, a list has been released by a research firm that shows the unmatched fan base of the Indian Premier League.
In the list of sports club with the most interactions on Instagram, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians makes their way into the top 5. The list is released by Deportes and Finanzas. RCB topped the chart with 285 million interactions on Instagram. It is followed by CSK (276 million), Real Madrid (259 million), Mumbai Indians (196 million) and FC Barcelona (162 million).
Notably, Mumbai Indians has the highest number of followers among IPL teams on Instagram, followed by Chennai Super Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, in the ongoing tournament, all three teams are in contention for playoffs and their results will decide the fate of each other. MI and RCB will play the last two league games against SRH and GT, respectively. On the other hand, CSK is set to face Delhi Capitals on Saturday.
Will DC spoil CSK’s party?
Delhi Capitals, who are already out of the race for the playoffs, are serving as the biggest spoilers of the season. They knocked out Punjab Kings in their last league and would aim to do the same against Chennai Super Kings. However, CSK has the upper hand against DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. MS Dhoni-led Chennai have clinched five out of seven games in the national capital.
On the other hand, DC has been phenomenal in the latter half of the league. After thrashing Punjab Kings, they will be boasting in confidence. They have a record of wins against CSK on Saturdays and it will also boost their confidence. Meanwhile, MI and RCB will keep an eye on this match as this will decide their fate for the playoffs of the IPL 2023.
