Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) in their recent encounter in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Pacer Tushar Deshpande found himself involved in a fake quote issue. In a viral post, Deshpande was accused of saying that it was simple to get rid of MI skipper Rohit Sharma citing the batter not being good enough as the reason.
These fake quotes were shared by various prominent handles on social media which enraged MI supporters who saw it as disrespectful to Sharma. Meanwhile, after the game, Deshpande denied the fake news on Instagram by saying that he would never utter such a degrading statement and he regards the game’s legends in the highest regard. He also advised supporters to respect all of the players and not believe or disseminate false information.
In an Instagram post, Tushar Deshpande said, “I have absolute respect for all the legends mentioned above. I did not, and would not, make any such demeaning statements. Stop spreading fake news.” Notably, in the game against Mumbai Indians Tushar clinched two wickets in three overs including Rohit Sharma.
MS Dhoni praised Tushar Deshpande’s potential
After his amazing performance in the game against five-time champions CSK skipper MS Dhoni praised the young pacer. Dhoni also spoke about the faith and the potential Deshpande have to offer for the team. Dhoni said, “We believe in him, and when you’re new you are under pressure but playing in the IPL for a few years brings different pressure.”
“He had a great domestic season, he is improving. He has a lot of potentials but he can improve by not bowling those no-balls, and by being more consistent”, he further added. Notably, Tushar Didn’t have a great start in the tournament as he was hammered badly against Gujarat Titans in the first game when he came in the middle as an impact player.

Those who are spreading false info should be sued. Why would a young player talk ill about a senior player.
