The fans in Chennai were given the chance to watch their team’s practice session ahead of the Indian T20 League 2023. Naturally, one of the most popular franchises in tournament history was able to draw a large crowd as evidenced by the videos circulating online.
In one of the videos that have gone viral on the internet, the crowd was seen chanting for their favourite player, MS Dhoni. As the 41-year-old walked into the middle, the Chepauk Stadium crowd erupted and began cheering for him.

In the meantime, the Chennai franchise has been practising at their home ground for some time now. Many images and videos of the players hitting the balls in the nets and other practice sessions have made it to the internet.
The Men in Yellow will play the season opener against the defending champions Gujarat at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on the 31st of March. They will play their first home game against KL Rahul’s Lucknow on the 3rd of April.
This will be Chennai’s first home game since 2019. The tournament was not played in the regular home-away format for three seasons due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2020 season was played entirely in the UAE, while the first leg of the 2021 season was played in India before being postponed and shifted to the UAE. The 2022 season was played across four venues in Pune and Mumbai.
The fans in Chennai will be eager to watch the Men in Yellow take the centre stage at their home ground after a long wait.
