Indian Cricket is a very well-run sport. Given the amount of money that it has, it makes for very professional work on the cricket ground as well as in the backrooms.
The domestic circuit of Indian cricket also enjoys a great deal of infrastructure and money earned through the sport on the international level that it can manage to keep the game at the highest professional level. Sometimes however there are bound to be mistaken as is the nature of humanity.
Something similar like this has happened with Indian Cricket Board’s domestic Twitter handle. In the early hours of 2nd January, the handle tweeted a picture trying to show the playing XI of the Jammu Kashmir team which is playing against Rajasthan in the CK Naidu Trophy.
While the process of announcing the playing XI was quite straightforward, the Twitter handle seems to have made a mess of it. The tweet with the caption, “Jammu Kashmir- Playing XI” was supposed to name 11 players but in actuality, it shows only 4 players.
The image showing the name of the players has just “Arya Thakur, Jiyaad Nazir Magrey, Kanhaiya Wadhawan (c), Kawal Preet Singh. “ The tweet does not list the names of the other 7 players playing in the match.
As soon as the post was made, it left Twitter users confused. Soon many realised that it was a mistake on the Twitter handle manager’s part and they started to joke about the mistake.
Many started to ask the manager to not get high while doing his job. The Twitter reply section was filled with memes and funny texts that are sure to get cricket fans rolling.
As for the rest of the players who are not mentioned in the Tweet, they are- Shubham Singh Pundir, Lone Nasir Muzaffar, Mujtaba Yousuf, Ranjot Singh, Rydham (wk), Vishal Kumar, and Manit.
Let’s look at how Twitter reacted to the mistake by Indian Cricket Board Domestic’s Twitter handle:
