Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel grabbed eyeballs with his statement on cricket legend Virat Kohli. Patel recently revealed his discussion with Virat Kohli about Jasprit Bumrah. Patel said that he told Kohli about Jasprit Bumrah and how good a bowler he is to which Kohli replied that Bumrah will not be able to do much with the ball. “In 2014, when I was with Bangalore, I told Kohli there’s this bowler named Bumrah. Have a look at him. Virat replied saying ‘Chhor na yaar. Ye Bumrah-Vumrah kya karenge?’ (Leave it. What will such players do?),” said Patel in a chat on Cricbuzz.
Kohli’s admirers were not happy with this comment from Patel and trolled him on social media. Patel once again took an indirect dig at Virat Kohli and hit back at the people who were trolling him. On 28th March 2022, the former Indian cricketer tweeted that truth is always bitter. “Neem patta aur sach dono kadwa hai,†tweeted Parthiv Patel.

Patel also opened up on Bumrah as well. The 37-year-old said that when Bumrah was initially picked in the Indian T20 League, he did not have a good time with the ball. Patel added that the right arm pacer slowly started improving and the Mumbai franchise backed the fast bowler. Patel concluded by stating that Bumrah has emerged as a force to reckon with because of his hard work.
“When he was first picked, Bumrah played Ranji Trophy for the first 2-3 years. 2013 was his first year, and he didn’t have a good season in 2014. In 2015, it was so bad that there were discussions going on that he might have to be sent back home mid-season. But, he slowly began improving and Mumbai Indians really backed him. It was his own hard work and such backing that really brought out the best in him,†concluded Patel.
