After crashing out of the Asia Cup 2022 in an embarrassing fashion, smiles returned to Indian fans’ faces as the Men in Blue clinched a T20I series against Australia. Having taken many positives from the T20I series, India now sets its sights on the upcoming T20I and ODI series against South Africa.
Let’s get all the details about the three-match T20I series against South Africa starting on September 28.
India – South Africa Series Team News:
The home team has shied away from making many changes this close to the 20-20 World Cup. The squad for the South Africa series is a mixture of the Asia Cup squad with the squad for the Australia series.
Deepak Hooda has been included in the T20I squad but reports have emerged of a back injury that could ruin his chances of playing. Mohammad Shami who contacted COVID ahead of the Australia series is yet to fully recover as well. Arshdeep Singh who missed the Australia series makes his comeback. The rest of the squad is the same as against Australia.
South Africa will be led by Temba Bavuma in both formats. Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje are some of the important players who have been kept in the squad. Youngster Tristan Stubbs is also included and would be great addition to the Protea team.
