Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) aims to make a strong comeback in IPL 2024 following a disappointing performance last season. SRH finished at the bottom of the points table with only 4 wins in 10 games. But firstly, for the Auction, SRH is focused on strengthening their squad for the upcoming season.
Before the IPL 2024 auction, SRH released six players from their squad, including some high-priced players. This has left them with a substantial budget of Rs. 34 crores. With the second-highest amount remaining in the purse after RCB, the Orange Army is well-positioned to secure their preferred players during the auction.

5. Wanindu Hasaranga
Several IPL teams will be looking for Wanindu Hasaranga as a top choice in the upcoming IPL 2024 auction. The all-rounder from Sri Lanka who is known for his effective batting in the lower order and leg-spin ability will be an asset for any team. On the other hand with SRH releasing spinners like Adil Rashid and Akeal Hosein, they are surely in need of a quality spinner to complement Mayank Markande. Hasaranga’s skill set and prior league experience make him an ideal fit for the current SRH lineup.
4. Gerald Coetzee
In the ODI World Cup 2023, South African pacer Gerald Coetzee had showcased excellence bowling skills. Coetzee even finished fourth in the list of most wickets. Notably, his impactful performance against Australia in the semi-final stood out. The right arm pacer ended the league stage with a remarkable economy rate of 6.23 at an average of 19.80 and claiming 20 wickets overall. As SRH are in urgent need of a high-quality overseas speedster Coetzee can be an ideal fit along with Marco Jansen.
3. Daryl Mitchell
SRH are in dire need of middle-order stability in IPL 2024 and hence could target Daryl Mitchell in the auction. With previous season’s middle-order struggles, SRH might opt for Mitchell given his impressive form in the ODI World Cup 2023. The release of Harry Brook has also freed up 13.25 crores which adds flexibility to their budget for the mini-auction. Mitchell can emerge as a potential replacement for Brook and also offer the desired qualities for SRH’s middle-order revival. The team aims to address the batting concerns and strengthen their lineup for the upcoming season.
2. Travis Head
SRH have faced opening slot challenges in the previous season also as they are now left with limited options in the name of Abhishek Sharma and Mayank Agarwal. However, both have struggled to establish solid opening partnerships with the all-rounder Abhishek averaging 20.55 in 11 games and Agarwal averaging 27 across 10 matches. To address this, SRH could target Travis Head in the IPL 2024 auction, offering a strong and dominating opening option. Head’s experience and presence in the Rs. 2 crore salary bracket makes him an attractive prospect to bolster SRH’s top order and enhance their batting performance for the upcoming season.
1. Rachin Ravindra
Rachin Ravindra has gained widespread recognition in India following his impressive performance in the ODI World Cup 2023. The New Zealand all-rounder showcased his prowess by scoring three centuries and two fifties in his debut World Cup campaign. Finishing as the highest run-scorer for New Zealand, Ravindra accumulated 453 runs in 10 games during the tournament. Rachin is known for his left-handed batting and he even exhibits versatility by being capable of playing as an opener or in the middle-order.
