Virat Kohli has been in superb form over the last six months, but the former India captain believes there is still room for improvement, which he hopes to achieve in the upcoming Indian T20 League 2023, which begins on March 31.

Since regaining form in the Asia Cup last year, the veteran batter has five centuries across formats, the most recent coming against Australia in the fourth drawn Test in Ahmedabad. In India’s first innings, Kohli scored 186 runs.

“I am just back to playing the way I do. There’s still a lot of room to get to my best which hopefully happens in the IPL if I am able to get to the level I want to play at and help the team and it will be exciting.”¬†Kohli told in a video shared on Thursday by the Bangalore team on their social media handles.

Kohli did not have a stellar Indian T20 League 2022 season, scoring only 341 runs in 16 matches as Bangalore advanced to the playoffs. Given his recent success with the bat, the right-hander hopes to improve his performance this year.

“It was about rediscovering my love for the game and I could do that only after I could step away from what was happening on the field for so long. I was absolutely exhausted and I needed to connect to myself as a human first and not judge myself constantly and keep myself under scrutiny all the time,” he added.

Chinnaswamy will be lit up again: Virat Kohli

Bangalore has had a fantastic home crowd over the years, so returning to their home ground after four years is a momentous occasion that Virat Kohli is looking forward to. Speaking of the same, Virat said, “It’s one of the few things in the recent years that I am really excited about. It is special because I know how much the fans want to see us in the stadium and the Chinnaswamy will be lit up again, the crowd will be buzzing and so will the players and it will be special with a special announcement. It will definitely be a day to remember.”
