Pakistan and England are locking horns in the second Test of the three-match series in Multan. After having a record-breaking Day 1 in the first Test, England captain, Ben Stokes once again won the toss and elected to bat first. However, the England openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett couldn’t give a flying start to their team this time around.
England lost their first wicket on the score of 38 as the debutant leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed cleaned up Zak Crawley. After losing the first wicket early, Ollie Pope and Duckett got involved in a 79-run stand for the second wicket to weather the early storm.
The England batters were hoping to have another 500-plus day as they were scoring at over 6 runs an over. However, the debutant Ahmed had other ideas as he broke the back of the England batting lineup by picking up a fifer. He gave Pakistan their second success of the day as he trapped Duckett in front of the stumps.
The 24-year-old further caught the big fish as he got rid of the dangerous Joe Root to pick up the third wicket of England on the score of 145. He further dismissed the well-set Ollie Pope who tried to reverse sweep him but ended up top-edging the ball due to extra bounce and was caught at backward point.

Ahmed completed his dream-fifer in the first session itself by picking up the wicket of Harry Brook who ended up skying a tossed-up delivery and found the fielder at mid-off. England were 167-5 following Brook’s dismissal with all five wickets going to Ahmed.
The 24-year-old impressed everyone with his variations as England batters lost their wickets in an attempt to keep the scoreboard moving. England finished the first session at 180/5 after 33 overs with Abrar Ahmed having figures of 5/70 in 13 overs.
