The first session of the 1st Test between India and England has completed with England finally being bowled out for a total of 420 runs. This is one of the most important comebacks for Ben Stokes and his men after being in a terrible position in the first innings. They will still need to come back well with the ball and put the Indian batters under pressure. It was all looking lost when India got the lead of 190 runs, but with this impressive comeback, England will feel that they have a chance in the game right now. This Test match is in the balance and can be anybody’s game with Indians batting in slightly tough conditions and England are up against a powerful Indian batting lineup.

The savior for England in this Test match was the 26-year-old Middlesex batter Ollie Pope with one of the best innings by an England batter in the sub-continent. Ollie Pope scored an amazing innings of 196 runs from 278 deliveries which consisted of 21 boundaries. Pope was holding the innings together, even batting through the tough moments when he had to bat with the tail as well. He was also counterattacking the Indian spin attack with some amazing sweeps and reverse sweeps and kept on building his innings throughout.
We do not know whether this will be enough to get England a victory in this Test match, but it has still put the visitors in the game. It will be interesting to see how this match pans out after this sublime innings from Pope. The game is on and both sides will be looking for a win with the Test match on the line now. This innings from Ollie Pope will still be remembered by every England cricket fan as one of the best they have seen especially against this mighty Indian team. Pope has surprised the Indian team in this Test match with this innings and has also come back after his previous poor outings in the last series in India.
