With regard to the upcoming bilateral matches between India, the Indian Cricket Board (ICB) has announced the release of its media rights tender. The board encouraged bidders to submit offers for the media rights to India’s international and domestic matches, as well as announcing the start of the tender.
The board further said that the ITT (Invitation to contract), which can be acquired for a non-refundable cost of INR 15 lakh, will contain the comprehensive terms and conditions of the contract. Purchases of the ITT can be made till August 25. The ICB released a press release outlining all the details around the ITT’s release. They stated that acquiring the ITT is a must for anyone wishing to submit a bid for the media rights tender for India’s bilateral matches.
“The tender process, including eligibility requirements, submission of bids, rights, and obligations, etc., are outlined in the ‘Invitation to Tender’ (“ITT”), which will be provided upon payment of a non-refundable fee of INR 15,00,000 (Indian Rupees Fifteen Lakh Only), plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax,” the ICB said in the press release.
Disney Star held the media rights until March 2023, when the previous agreement came to an end. At a whopping INR 6138.10 Crore, they reportedly paid INR 61 Crore for each international game across all formats to win the media rights. Additionally, it is anticipated that this time around, the tender’s privileges will be significantly greater.
“Any interested party wishing to submit a bid must purchase the ITT. However, only those who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the ITT and are subject to the other terms and conditions therein will be eligible to bid. It should be noted that simply purchasing the ITT does not grant any individual the right to bid. The ICB reserves the right to cancel or modify the bidding process at any stage or in any manner without providing any reason,” the press release further stated.
