One of the 10 Indian Premier League franchises, RCB, is currently battling for its first championship. Even though the management assembled some excellent players from their previous IPL season, only three or four players stood out for their performances during the competition.

Although there has been much disagreement about the selection of Rohit and Kohli, de Villiers has a different take on two of the best batsmen in recent Indian cricket.
Speaking with the media before the SA20 match involving Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Johannesburg Super Kings washed out. De Villiers remarked that, “I’m very happy for Virat and Rohit. Their inclusion in the team (for the Afghanistan series) does not come as a surprise to me because you want your best team to try and win a World Cup. I understand the criticism because of the youngsters that may be missing out.”
AB de Villiers contrasted this with his own global career, by saying, “I was in a similar position at the backend of my career but it did not work out for me. I’m glad it is working out for Virat and Rohit.”
