In the 45th match of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, India beat the Netherlands by 160 runs. With this win, Rohit Sharma-led India remains unbeaten in the ongoing tournament as they have won all nine league games. After an amazing batting display from KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, the bowlers took charge and sealed the game for the hosts.

Earlier, after winning the toss, India skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bat first. His decision went well with the team, as he and Shubman Gill added 100 runs for the first wicket. Gill, in his inning, scored 51 runs off 32 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes. Meanwhile, Rohit, in his innings, scored 61 runs off 54 balls with the help of eight fours and two sixes.

After their departure, Virat Kohli, along with Shreyas Iyer, added 71 runs for the third wicket. Kohli, in his inning, scored 51 runs off 56 balls with the help of five fours and a six. Meanwhile, Iyer continued to hammer Dutch bowlers as he added 208 runs for the fourth wicket with wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul. Iyer in his innings scored an unbeaten 128 runs, while Rahul in his innings scored 102 runs. For the Netherlands, Bas de Leede took two wickets.

India outplayed the Netherlands at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium

Chasing a mountainous total, the Netherlands got off to a shaky start. Opener Wesley Barresi was dismissed by Mohammad Siraj in the second over. However, the Dutch team tried to give a fight as players like Sybrand Engelbrecht (45) and Teja Nedamanuru (51) tried to rescue their team. However, the Indian bowling attack outplayed the Netherlands’ batting unit and bundled them up for 250 runs in 47.5 overs.

For India, skipper Rohit Sharma took the last wicket, dismissing Nedamanuru for 51 runs. Apart from Rohit, star batter Virat Kohli also took a wicket as he dismissed Dutch skipper Scott Edwards for a mere 17 runs. Pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each. With this win, India is set to face New Zealand in the first semifinals at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15.
