‘Ye mast ladai chal rahi hai’ – Fans react as Mohammad Hafeez hits back at Michael Vaughan’s comments about Pakistan

Pakistan are currently playing a do-or-die encounter against New Zealand in the ODI World Cup 2023.

In response to Michael Vaughan’s contentious remarks against Pakistani cricket in recent days, Mohammad Hafeez has voiced his opinion. The former England batter has a tendency to write or speak things to a wide audience which might not be appreciated by everyone.

He received criticism from Irfan Pathan for drawing attention to the vacant stands during the 2023 ODI World Cup. He advised him to focus on England, as they are experiencing the worst World Cup performance in their history.

Michael shifted his focus on PCB and chastised the organisation for disclosing skipper Babar Azam’s WhatsApp conversations. He challenged the regulating authority while siding with the players.

Just one day before Pakistan’s match versus New Zealand in Bengaluru, he made another statement. He said, “The last few days have been without action. Somebody should resign from the PCB or leak the messages of players to help the team to do better against the Kiwis.”

Disappointed, Hafeez posted a message on David Willey’s retirement because of a central contract dilemma. The left-arm pacer chose to end his career the day following the world event since the ECB had not extended him a contract.

Hafeez said, “Better stop peeping into other’s problem and sort out ur disputes first. We have sizeable insight about our issues and will surely resolve them. @MichaelVaughan.”

Pakistan face do-or-die test against Kiwis

After winning the toss, Babar Azam chose to bowl first during their game against New Zealand in ODI World Cup 2023. Leading the team for New Zealand is comeback man, Kane Williamson. With both nations vying for a last-four berth, this matchup in Bengaluru is imperative for victory on Saturday.

Everyone would have considered New Zealand as a lock for the semifinals two weeks ago, but following defeats by Australia, India, and South Africa, Kane Williamson’s team is in trouble.

Pakistan’s only option is to win every single game they have left. The strain on Babar Azam and his side for Saturday’s encounter has also intensified since Afghanistan defeated the Netherlands. If they triumph, they will continue to fight another day. However, if they fail, their journey in the tournament will come to an end.
