On the eve of his final Test match in Sydney on Tuesday, Australia’s David Warner disclosed how his Baggy Green (a test cap) was misplaced during transport. Warner begged for a secure return of the baggy green in a touching post on social media.

Warner made a “last resort” plea on Instagram in a video. He was seen stating that the bag containing Baggy Green had been taken away by someone. After Australia defeated Pakistan during the Boxing Day Test last week, the 37-year-old returned to his birthplace of Sydney.

Warner disclosed that the backpack was tucked inside a bigger suitcase together with the rest of the team’s belongings. It was taken by the Qantas from Melbourne to Sydney on December 31.

David Warner said, “Inside this backpack was my Baggy Green. It’s sentimental to me. It’s something I’d love to have in my hands walking out there this week. If it’s the backpack you really wanted, I have a spare one here. You won’t get into trouble. Please reach out to Cricket Australia or myself via my social media. I’m happy to give this to you if you return my Baggy Green.”

David Warner pleads to the public in helping him find his Baggy Green!

Warner appealed to the public to help him locate his baggy green, pledging that the returner would face no repercussions. Even more, the seasoned opener volunteered to give the individual his extra backpack. The Australian international also disclosed that he contacted the airline and the hotel personnel. But the CCTV footage shows no indication of anybody accessing his stuff.

The Delhi Capitals opener added, “We’ve gone through CCTV footage, they’ve got some blind spots apparently. We’ve spoken to the Quay West hotel who we absolutely trust, they’ve gone through their cameras and no one has gone into our rooms.”

David Warner and Australia would take the field against Pakistan tomorrow at the Sydney Cricket Ground. It would be the opener’s last ever Test for his nation and would look to feature only in the white-ball format from here on in.
