WWE: Gunther makes his in-ring comeback with the Imperium during the latest episode of Monday night Raw
Ahead of their clash in Night of Champions, The Beast Brock Lesnar targets Cody Rhodes on Monday Night Raw.
This week’s Monday Night Raw saw some dramatic finishes, especially in the main event. In the main event, the Ring General Gunther made his in-ring comeback with a six-man tag team match. The Imperium faced Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Matt Riddle in the main event of the Raw.
In the match, Imperium’s poor performance continues as they were defeated by Owens and company. Gunther was removed from the ring as the game progressed, and the trio went after Giovanni Vinci for the pin. Interestingly, this isn’t Imperium’s first RAW defeat; the tandem was pinned back at RAW XXX when they faced Montez Ford, Angelo Dawkins, and Seth Rollins.
Notably, Gunther remains undefeated in singles competition but this is his second loss in six men’s tag team match in the last few months. This defeat also extends Ludwig Kaiser’s and Leonardo da Vinci’s current losing run. The Ring General will be furious with this defeat, especially because he was not involved in the end and this was his first bout as an official member of the RAW brand.
Brock Lesnar targets Cody Rhodes ahead of their clash
Ahead of their clash in Night of Champions, The Beast Brock Lesnar targets Cody Rhodes on Monday Night Raw. Lesnar attacked Cody backstage before the show even began, injuring his arm. Later in the evening, Brock Lesnar entered the ring and stated that The American Nightmare would be unfit to face him at Night of Champions. Cody then walked out, only to be pulled down by Lesnar, who targeted his arm once more.
In the show’s final moments, Triple H recommended Cody Rhodes get his arm checked, but the latter argued he was fine and would battle Lesnar. However, some rumours are that this might be a plan to put Lesnar in a three-way fight against AJ Styles and Seth Rollins in the Night of Champions for the universal championship.
