During the auction of the WPL 2024, a lady was present at the auction table with UP Warriroz. It is Jinisha Sharma, who is the director of Capri Global. Jinisha was appointed to the post earlier this year as the Principal for Impact and ESG. The focus of Jinisha in her role was on gender equality and sustainable development. As a trustee for the Capri Foundation, Jinisha has shown her commitment on a full scale.
Jinisha was at the auction table, as she has been handling the sports operations of Capri Sports. They have their investment in many sports teams like Bengal Warriors in the Pro Kabaddi League, UP Warriorz in the WPL, Rajasthan Warriors in the Ultimate Kno-Kho, and Sharjah Warriors in the ILT20. Capri Sports has been a joint sponsor in the IPL of many teams, most notably of Gujarat Titans.
Jinisha has also worked on some crucial initiatives like climate change. She was also a founder of the WorthWhile Future Foundation, which was formed to build a sustainable future. Jinisha is someone who is focused on the Indian ecosystem of sports. Her association with many sports is an example of her interest towards helping the development of sports at the grassroots levels in the country.

UP Warriorz had a decent season in the WPL 2023. In their inaugural season, UP finished the tournament as the third-best team, as they were beaten in the Eliminator by Mumbai Indians. They have some quality players in their lineup like Alyssa Healy, Deepti Sharma, Grace Harris, Tahlia McGrath, Sophie Ecclestone, and others in their lineup. UP brought Vrinda Dinesh for INR 1.3 crores in the WPL auction 2024.
