The WPL Auction is set to commence tomorrow in Mumbai at 2:30 P.M IST.

On Saturday, December 9, in Mumbai, the player auction for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) second season will take place. The WPL 2024 player auction is scheduled to start at 2:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST) and will be streamed live online and on television. 

Thirty of the 165 players who will be eliminated on Saturday will be put under the knife. Five teams, who will have one more opportunity to bolster their roster for the upcoming campaign, have already turned in their list of dismissed and retained players.

Among the 61 non-Indian players picked for the auction are Chamari Athapaththu, Deandra Dottin, and Shabnim Ismail, who are among the nine international seats up for grabs. Four players are included under the INR 40 lakh category, and Dottin and Kim Garth have been placed in the top category at INR 50 lakh.

Gujarat Giants, who released most of the team, will go into the auction with the largest purse of INR 5.95 crore. The Delhi Capitals have three spots open for the auction, while the reigning champion Mumbai Indians possess the smallest sum of INR 2.1 crore remaining in their budget.
