1. Anil Kumble, India’s highest wicket-taker
Kumble is one of the most accomplished spin bowlers in international cricket history, holds a BE degree in mechanical engineering. He graduated from Rashtriya Vidyalaya College of Engineering, Bangalore, in 1991–92. Remarkably, Kumble made his debut in Test and ODI cricket in 1990.
Although initially pursuing engineering, Kumble chose to chase a cricketing career, eventually achieving remarkable success. He etched his name in cricket history by becoming the first Indian and only the second bowler worldwide to claim all ten wickets in a Test match innings.
Kumble’s cricket journey with 619 Test wickets, has established him as the third highest wicket-taker of all time, trailing only behind Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan. He also captained the Indian Cricket team in Tests.
