Venkataraghavan, a former cricketer and engineer, boasts a remarkable legacy in the world of cricket. Before making his mark as a cricketer, Venkataraghavan earned an engineering degree from the College of Engineering, Guindy, in Chennai, showcasing his intellectual prowess.

During his cricketing career, the now 75-year-old played 72 international matches for the Indian cricket team, proving himself as a skilled off-spin bowler who claimed an impressive tally of 161 wickets. His engineering background likely contributed to his analytical and strategic approach to the game.

Even after his cricketing days, Venkataraghavan continued to make significant contributions to the sport. He joined the Apex Cricket Council‘s elite umpire panel, demonstrating his deep understanding of the game and his ability to officiate at the highest level.
