Women’s T20 Commonwealth games: Squads, Fixtures and All you need to know
Cricket is set to return to the Commonwealth Games, which are planned to begin on 28th July 2022. Cricket will be included in the Commonwealth Games after a 24-year absence. The last time the sport was played in CWG was in 1998. However, this will be the first time that Women’s cricket will feature in the event.
The Indian team will also participate in the tournament under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur. They begin their campaign against Australia in the opening game on the 29th of July. The hosts England will play their first game against Sri Lanka on the 30th of July. The last match of the group stages will be played on the 4th of August, while the final will be played on the 7th.
The tournament will see two groups featuring four teams each. Group A has India, Australia, Pakistan, and Barbados. On the other hand, Group B has New Zealand, South Africa, England and Sri Lanka. The Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham will host all the matches of the event.
