Niranjan Shah’s connection with cricket extends beyond the administrative realm, as he had a notable playing career representing Saurashtra in first-class cricket from 1965/66 to 1974/75. His deep understanding of both the administrative intricacies and the players’ perspective sets him apart. Shah is currently serving as the honorary secretary of the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA). Shah’s dedication to the sport has spanned decades.
Notably, Niranjan Shah held a prominent position in the Apex Cricket Council, where he served as the honorary secretary of the Indian Cricket Board. Elected four times to this key role, Shah’s influence in shaping the direction of the Indian cricket administration has been substantial. His multifaceted roles also include serving as the vice president of the board from the West Zone and holding the position of vice chairman in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
