In the eighth match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Dhruv Jurel made an immediate impact. Playing for Rajasthan Royals, he came in as an impact player substitute for Yuzvendra Chahal. Jurel came to bat when the team lost their sixth wicket for 124 runs in 15 overs, needing another 74 runs in five overs. Even though the win for the Kings was looking likely, the right-hander made sure it wasn’t easy.

Batting with Shimron Hetmyer, the Agra-born player put together 62 runs in just 4.3 overs. The former got run out on the third ball of the last over when the team needed 12 runs off three balls. Despite being run out, the 2016 U19 World Cup-winning captain clapped and motivated the youngster to take the game forward. Even though the uncapped India player could do it, the fans are talking about him more than Punjab’s win.
