Lalit Modi is a fugitive and lives in London since 2013.
Social media was taken by surprise on Wednesday when Lalit Modi revealed his relationship with former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen. Most could not believe this relationship as both come from very different backgrounds and social circles.
Taking to Twitter, Lalit Modi said, “Just back in London after a whirling global tour #maldives # sardinia with the families — not to mention my #betterhalf @sushmitasen47 — a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon.” Sending Twitter into a frenzy.

Later he made another tweet clarifying the current status of their relationship as, “Just for clarity. Not married — just dating each other. That too will happen one day.”
Naturally, chatters began and journalists tried reaching the two for further comments. Ruchir, Lalit Modi’s son from his late wife Minal Modi, has come out and said that he does not want to comment on his father’s personal life. He added that he would be happy to comment on business matters but it’s the family matters where he draws the line.
“It is his life and his decision,” Ruchir was quoted as saying by the Times of India. “I prefer to refrain from commenting on personal family affairs but would always be happy to comment in relation to business or other matters”, said Ruchir Modi.
Lalit Modi is known for being the brains behind the Indian T20 League. It was he who founded the league and ran it for three years before he was sacked by the Indian Cricket Board. In 2010, Lalit Modi was suspended by the Indian cricket board after being accused of misconduct, financial irregularities and indiscipline. Three years later the board banned him for life after the committee found him guilty of all charges.
Modi became a fugitive from the Indian government after denying all charges against him and since then lives in London. Before this relationship, Modi was married to Minal Modi who passed away in 2018 due to cancer. Meanwhile, Sushmita Sen hasn’t publicly confirmed the relationship yet.
