Watch: Virat Kohli, Ishan Kishan dance together as they celebrate India’s win in 2nd ODI vs Sri Lanka
India won the game with 6 wickets to spare and took a 2-0 lead in the series on Thursday.
The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team and Sri Lanka competed against each other in the second ODI of the three-match contest on January 12, Thursday and the Men in Blue crushed the Lankan Lions chasing a target of 216 with 4 wickets to spare on the back of KL Rahul’s valiant 64 which came off 103 balls.
The Indian team’s bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav managed to put the team on the front foot in the first innings as they managed to restrict the Sri Lankan team to a lesser total on the pitch that favours batting with their three-fors. India’s batters got off to a shaky start, with Rahul and Hardik Pandya steadying the chase with a 75-run stand for the 5th wicket.
Post the conclusion of the game, the Indian star batter Virat Kohli, although contributed only 4 runs with the bat, set the Eden Gardens stadium on fire as he danced together with Ishan Kishan, while the latter was rested for the game. Fans, who took cognizance of the same, are sharing the video all over the internet, making it a viral one.

It was a close game but games like these teach you a lot: Rohit Sharma
Rohit opened up on the win post the conclusion of the game and said that it is the games like the close ones that teach the teams the value of sticking together. Further, the Indian skipper lauded Rahul’s innings against the tough Lankan Lions pace battery and claimed that it gives the team batting depth.
“It was a close game but games like these teach you a lot. We had to build an innings under pressure. KL has been batting at five for a long period of time now and it gives us the depth. Gives you the confidence as well at the top of the order for us to go and bat freely. It was a good display of batsmanship. It’ll be nice to have a left-hander, but I don’t believe too much into it,” Rohit was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation.
