During the second Test between India and South Africa, Virat Kohli was spotted having fun. He was seen dancing alongside Shubman Gill at the field. The Test match is currently being played at the Newlands stadium in Cape Town. When Tristan Stubbs was sent back, the batting duo enjoyed a little fun together. Social media users saw the footage of the two having a good time on the pitch going viral.
After gaining the toss and opting to bat first, South Africa was bowled out for a pitiful 55 within 23.2 overs. Mohammed Siraj was the pick of the bowlers as he bowled a beautiful spell to rip apart the hosts. The pacers were able to amass astonishing figures of 6/15.
With 33 overs remaining, India was in a good position to take a commanding lead at 153/4. But in 34.5 overs, the visitors got out for 153 after losing six wickets and 0 runs in 11 balls. It was an unbelievable collapse. Three wickets apiece from Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, as well as Nandre Burger produced an incredible batting collapse.
South Africa arrived at stumps with 62/3, behind India by just 36 runs after restricting India’s lead to a mere 98 runs. David Bedingham and Aiden Markram will take the pitch tomorrow again for the hosts.

“There’s a bit of life in the pitch” : Sanjay Manjrekar
The collapses during Day 1 of the second Test involving South Africa and India in Cape Town were attributed by Sanjay Manjrekar to the new-age batting. Commenting to Star Sports, Manjrekar believed that both the pitch and the cutting edge batting methods contributed to the collapses by both sides.
Sanjay Manjrekar said, “I think it’s got a lot to do with the pitch. It’s got a bit to do with the new-age batting that’s maybe not focusing on defence as much, understandably because Test cricket has been the third format when it comes to priority. So if there’s a bit of life in the pitch, then these things happen. It was almost like the bowlers were wearing a cape in Cape Town.”
