Virat Kohli celebrates his 35th birthday in the match against South Africa

On his 35th birthday, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli received warm wishes from the cricketing world and fans. As he prepares for a highly anticipated clash with South Africa in the 2023 ODI World Cup at Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens, there’s a special milestone in sight. Kohli is on the verge of equaling Sachin Tendulkar’s record of the most ODI centuries, with 48 centuries under his belt.

There are rumours that the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) plans to gift him a golden bat. Currently in this World Cup, Kohli has been consistent but narrowly missed out on centuries twice. In his illustrious career, he has featured in 514 games, amassing 26,209 runs. In the current World Cup edition, he has scored 442 runs in seven matches with an impressive average of 88.40. Achieving his 49th ODI century would allow him to share the world record for most ODI hundreds with Sachin Tendulkar, adding to his legacy.
