Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer was seen angry at the Bengaluru crowd after a dropped catch. In a viral video, the Indian cricketer was seen a bit annoyed at the crowd after a dropped catch in the match against Netherlands. India had a very good outing against the Dutch side at M. Chinnaswamy stadium. The only drawback of the match for India was some of the dropped catches by the fielders.
One of those dropped catches actually injured Mohammad Siraj badly. In an attempt to catch a ball, Siraj not just dropped it, but ended up getting a huge blow on his neck as an aftermath. Though Siraj went on to bowl after the incident, Indian fans were worried for their bowler. It did not hamper India’s chances though, as they won the match by 160 runs in front of a passionate crowd.
While the crowd was passionate, Iyer did not seem to enjoy the dropped catches. As soon as the catch was dropped, Iyer got annoyed. Right at the moment, a few fans in the stands shouted Iyer’s name to grab his attention. It probably did not go well with the Indian cricketer, as he was seen angry at the crowd. The video has now gone viral on social media with mixed opinions.
Comprehensive win for India against NetherlandsÂ
Despite some hiccups, India won the match with relative ease. On the back of the fifties from Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Iyer himself, and KL Rahul, India posted a mammoth total of 410 runs on the board. India defended the total successfully, thanks to their reliable bowling attack. India conceded 250 runs with the ball, but still ended up winning by a huge margin.
Shreyas had a great match for himself. The Indian number 4 got to his maiden hundred in the World Cup and crossed the 400-run mark in the tournament as a batter. With the bat, Iyer scored 128 runs in 94 balls including some huge sixes. For his performance with the bat, Iyer won the Player of the Match award. India will face New Zealand in the semifinal.
