The star Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan mesmerized the crowd during the opening ceremony of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. With energetic dance performances to his popular songs and engaging interactions with the audience, the legendary actor showcased his versatility. Numerous videos and photos capturing the event quickly circulated on social media platforms.
In a video shared by a fan account of Shah Rukh Khan, the actor is seen recreating his famous Pathaan dialogue, “Party Pathaan ke ghar par rakhoge to mehman nawazi ke liye Pathaan toh aayega.” The legendary actor then danced to the tunes of “Jhoome Jo Pathaan” and the hit song “Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya”. Additionally, the veteran actor also joined the captains of the five competing teams in a dance.
Before his performance, Shah Rukh Khan addressed the audience and said, “Humara desh sadiyon se naari shakti pe depend karta (Our country has depended on women’s power for ages, be it Mother India, Mother Earth or the sweet mothers sitting at our homes. Women have been running companies as CEOs and they have been running houses as mothers and nurturing children. Women are going to break all the glass ceilings and stereotypes.”

Star studded lineup kicked off Women’s Premier League Season 2
Following his remarkable performance, Khan extended a warm welcome to all five team captains: Harmanpreet Kaur (Mumbai Indians), Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Alyssa Healy (UP Warriorz), Meg Lanning (Delhi Capitals), and Beth Mooney (Gujarat Giants). Prior to Khan, Tiger Shroff, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Kartik Aaryan, and Sidharth Malhotra captivated the audience with their performances at the opening ceremony.
Shahid electrified the packed crowd as he entered on a motorbike, dressed in a dazzling white and silver outfit. His performance was to the song “Nagada Nagada” from the movie “Jab We Met”. On the professional front, Shah Rukh’s latest appearance was in Rajkumar Hirani’s film “Dunki”.
